Ladies, it’s that time of year again – Wahine Weekend!

Kona Sailing Club will be having it’s 26th annual Wahine Sailing event the weekend of Nov 10-11, 2018.
Five keelboats in the 20-24 ft range are participating thus far with 16 women signed up! Ms Behavin’, Mahina Pua, Summer Wind, Wind Dancer and Wind Fire.
Still room for you if you want to get your boat into the action!
Saturday Coffee & Clinic with Jennifer Gillette.
Jennifer is a Big Island resident who sailed competitively in college earning the status of 3-time All-Americian crew, 1-time Honorable mention All-American skipper. She has raced Melges 24’s with her husband Isaac Gillette on Oahu and the mainland.
Registration 8:45 am, on land clinic starts 9:10
You are welcome to attend clinic. Also, Kane are needed to help with the on the water start practice & Sunday Race Committee. Check with me/Alicia for details.
Saturday – land clinic will be followed by on the water crew orientation & start practice ending at 3pm.
Cost to HYRA club members $10, non-members $15. Proceeds going to Jr sailing program. Kane & Wahine welcome at clinic.
Sunday Skipper / Crew meeting 9:30 am.
Wahine teams will race 2 – 3 races and end the afternoon with heavy pupus (dinner?) and awards celebration. Cost for race & Celebration $15, $10 for sailors under 21 yrs OR meal only.
Wahine skippers and crew are welcome, some borrowed boats are available. Please RSVP ASAP if you haven’t already done so.
