Sunday was Fall 5, our race/casual sail day.

Two A fleet and seven B fleet boats entered, though sadly one B fleet boat was unable to make the starting line due to trailer failure, so we had a reasonable turnout for late in the year.

Conditions were hot, HOT, and light, but the race committee still managed to get 2 races in, with the 2nd race course 10 heading to the green buoy after rounding the windward mark and returning back rounding the windward mark again, but rounding it to starboard.. a new one for our racers this year.

Race 1 A fleet: 1st Kamakani, 2nd Fiesta. B fleet: 1st Opihi, 2nd Mahina Pua, 3rd Summer Wind.

Race 2 A fleet: Kamakani, 2nd Fiesta. B fleet: 1st Summer Wind, 2nd Mahina Pua, 3rd Vallhalla.

Mahalo to Alicia and the race committee.

Sailing was followed up with potluck at the club and ribs grilled up by chef Joe….Mahalo Joe….even though I spent Saturday prepping them!

*****This coming Sunday Oct 28th will be our final sail/race day of the year, a make up day for the first of the series which we cancelled due to the hurricane.

A couple of our members will be celebrating birthdays so be sure to be in your best pirate gear for the after race festivities.

Garrett and Kathryn Matlock will be manning the grill and so bring a potluck to share and make sure you all sign up on the website so we have an accurate headcount.
