There is still one more important election before we close out the year.
This year we have 5 board positions up for election, since a long standing, distinguished member who has served for more than 20 years has decided not to run for re-election.
The board is made up of directors who serve a specific purpose such as Treasurer or Social Director, as well as ‘at large’ type directors who do not have assigned jobs; some of our BOD members prefer to have less specific responsibilities but enjoy attending Board meetings and voting on club business to help keep things running smoothly.
Board meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month at 6.00pm and usually last for around an hour. The Board meets prospective new members, discusses ideas and plans for the club going forward and then votes on things that require it.
We would love to get new members to participate as Board members.
The time commitment is a small one as a director at large, and we want to encourage everyone to consider volunteering to serve the club and help your fellow club members.
If you have any interest in serving your club and are willing to volunteer an hour of your time a month please let me know by the end of November so your name can be added to the slate.
Voting will be held in December.
