Aloha Sailors

Good news, Kona Sailing Club is opening up again for racing and sail days.

You haven’t heard from me in a while as there has only been bad news or no news to report, however DLNR is now issuing ocean use permits, so we can finally resume our schedule.

We are planning on having a work day on Saturday August 8th to get the club back into shipshape condition and then there will be a Shakedown Sail Day on Sunday August 16th.

The regular Fall series will begin Sunday August 30th, with Fall 2 on September 13th, Fall 3 on September 27th, Fall 4 on October 11th and Fall 5 on October 25th.

See all of the Fall Series dates and info on the Calendar by tapping here.

Alicia and Brad will be looking for PROs for all of the Fall series and the board is exploring ways to have a properly distanced potluck following the sailing. Some thoughts are either ‘brown bagging’ or a potluck, but served cafeteria style. Any suggestions can be sent to me at commodore@konasailingclub.org.

It will be good to get back on the water again and blow away the cobwebs.
